Ultrasonic plastic welding is a technique used to join thermoplastic materials by applying high-frequency acoustic vibrations to the components being bonded. A typical ultrasonic welding system includes a power supply, transducer, welding horn, and fixture (or tooling). The power supply generates high-frequency electrical energy, which is converted into mechanical vibrations by the transducer. These vibrations are then amplified by the welding horn and applied to the contact area of the plastic parts. The vibrations generate localized heat, causing the plastic to soften and fuse together. Meanwhile, the fixture holds the parts securely in place to ensure precise alignment and strong bonding during the process. In the context of AC filters, the air filter plays a crucial role in providing clean air to the vehicle’s engine by effectively removing impurities.
